About the role

Following continued business growth and expanding national delivery, Enerven has created the new role of General Manager Safety, Risk & Sustainability. Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, this appointment reflects the scale and maturity of our next phase.

This role carries organisational accountability for strengthening Enerven’s licence to operate as we scale nationally. You will shape and lead the evolution of our safety culture, enterprise risk governance and sustainability capability, ensuring discipline and performance maturity keep pace with growth.

This is a visible, strategic partnering role working closely with Operations and Delivery leaders, embedding pragmatic safety leadership across a project-based workforce while providing executive oversight of risk and governance at enterprise level.

This position is based at our Adelaide Head Office, with relocation support available for the successful candidate.

You will:

  • Shape and execute Enerven’s enterprise safety, risk and sustainability strategy in direct alignment with the CEO’s growth agenda
  • Strengthen enterprise risk governance and quality frameworks to support disciplined, scalable growth
  • Elevate safety culture and accountability across operational and project environments
  • Embed sustainability commitments into how we win and deliver work, aligned to customer and contractual expectations
  • Partner closely with Operations and Delivery leaders to drive visible, practical safety outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and SLT on enterprise risk exposure, safety maturity and governance priorities

About you

You are an experienced executive safety leader who understands the realities of operational delivery in complex, project-based environments.

You have operated within construction, infrastructure, mining, utilities or similarly industrial sectors where safety performance, commercial delivery and workforce engagement must operate in balance. You bring credibility in the field and confidence in the boardroom.

You are comfortable holding leaders to account while maintaining strong, pragmatic working relationships. You elevate standards without introducing unnecessary complexity. You understand how to influence at executive level and embed frameworks that genuinely improve performance rather than simply satisfy compliance.

You bring deep experience across safety leadership and enterprise risk governance, including exposure to sustainability and ESG obligations within contracting environments. You have built and led multidisciplinary teams and are comfortable operating in organisations transitioning toward greater maturity and independence.

You lead with conviction, visibility and sound judgement. You understand that strong safety leadership is fundamental to long-term business performance.

An attractive executive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, reflective of the scale and enterprise impact of this mandate.
