About the opportunity

SA Power Networks is currently seeking a dedicated Customer Solutions Connections Officer to join our team. The Connections Officer will be responsible for determining customer and technical requirements for a variety of customer projects/services, including new connections, alterations, isolations, and abolishments. 

In addition, the role may also provide support for other technical customer services such as Access Permits, Tiger Tails, MEG connections, etc. This includes the efficient scoping of customer projects/services and ensuring minor customer connection projects are managed in a timely, cost-effective manner to meet customer expectations and SA Power Networks' standards.

Key Role Objectives

  • Monitor, prioritise, and action assigned CS and CN notifications. 

  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly, providing advice to customers in relation to minor connections. 

  • Prepare estimates, designs, and drawings for minor projects. 

  • Prepare indicative and firm customer offers for internal approval and delivery to the customer. 

  • Conduct project management activities including scoping, design, liaising with internal/external parties, financial management, approvals, etc. 

  • Prepare project documentation for the planning and construction of projects. 

  • Regularly communicate job status to customers. 

  • Raise, monitor, and close out customer invoices. 

  • Ensure that minor customer works are completed on time, within budget, and to the expected quality. 

  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring that service requests are efficiently handled, customer/industry expectations are met, and service standards e.g. NECF are maintained. 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and technical standards. 

  • Identify improvement opportunities and ensure lessons learned are broadly disseminated. 

Essential Role Requirements 

  • Electrical trade certificate, or the equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience.   

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a related position.  

  • Driver’s License (Class C).  

  • May require Intrastate/Interstate travel.  

  • May be required to work outside normal working hours on occasion.  

  • May be required to provide customer and/or technical support during emergencies/outages.  

  • Will be required to visit work sites/customer sites.
