About the opportunity: 

The M365 Specialist holds the responsibility of leading the delivery of M365 configuration, governance, and solutions at SA Power Networks. The role is required to establish M365 operational frameworks with other external interests, such as the IT architectural team, the IT Cyber Security team, and the Governance and Risk team. The M365 Specialist will also be responsible for investigating, developing, and implementing M365 best practices across general platform usage and the development of automation and integration when required.

Key Responsibilities Include 

  • Be aware of, understand the impact of, and plan for all upcoming changes and new features across the entire M365 suite of tools, including collaborating with relevant stakeholders within architecture, cyber security, end-user computing on the impact and adoption these changes
  • Guide and Deliver M365 technical solutions, including elements such as design, vendor engagement, review, and deployment across SharePoint, Teams, the Power Platform and CoE, Copilot (including Foundry), M365 Management tools (i.e Purview, Admin portal, etc) and future utilized technologies in the M365 space
  • Investigate, Implement, develop, and manage third-party governance, maintenance, and support tools for M365, such as the Power Platform Centre of Excellence toolkit, ShareGate, AvePoint, and the M365 Non-production environment, including ensuring we have the right tools to support and maintain our M365 environment.
  • Collaborate with management, business leaders, and the architecture teams for development of governance frameworks and automation road maps, as well as the realisation of Microsoft capabilities.
  • Provide technology leadership and mentoring to all support teams concerning challenges faced across the M365 platform.
  • Present to and gain endorsement across SA Power Networks approval structures (i.e Solution Design Authorities) for changes and implementation of new features and projects

About you 

To excel in this role, you must have a deep understanding of the M365 platform and be passionate about driving continuous improvement in operational processes. Your ability to investigate, develop, and implement automation and integration solutions will be key in delivering innovative solutions that streamline platform usage and enhance user experience.

With strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to best practices, you will help shape the future of M365 operations within our organisation.

Other criteria include:

  • Degree in IT or other related disciplines or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through experience
