About the role

Following a recent internal promotion and continued business growth, Enerven is entering the next phase of national expansion and organisational capability uplift. As we scale, the strength of our workforce strategy, leadership maturity and industrial foundations will be critical to sustained success.

The General Manager People & Culture is a key executive appointment, reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team.

This role carries organisation accountability for shaping and delivering a People & Culture strategy that enables Enerven’s 2030 ambition. You will architect workforce capability, strengthen industrial foundations and elevate leadership performance to ensure our people capability keeps pace with operational growth and increasing complexity.

We operate in a contracting environment where outcomes matter and leadership standards must translate into real-world delivery.

This position is based at our Adelaide Head Office, with relocation support available for the successful candidate.

You will:

  • Shape and execute Enerven’s enterprise People & Culture strategy in direct alignment with the growth agenda
  • Architect workforce capability and organisational design to support national expansion and operational complexity
  • Provide executive oversight of industrial relations strategy across a unionised workforce
  • Elevate leadership capability and performance standards across the Senior Leadership Team and broader organisation
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on culture, workforce risk and organisational effectiveness
  • Lead and mature the People & Culture function into a strategically aligned, future-ready capability

About you

You are a seasoned executive leader with experience shaping workforce strategy in complex, operational environments. You have operated within construction, infrastructure, energy, mining or similarly industrial sectors where industrial stability, workforce capability and delivery performance must align.

You understand that in a growing operational business, people strategy must enable delivery, not sit alongside it.

You bring the executive presence and judgement to influence at Board and enterprise level, balancing strategic foresight with grounded execution. You elevate leadership capability while remaining closely connected to operational realities.

You have led enterprise People & Culture functions within unionised workforces, including enterprise agreement negotiation and union engagement. Your experience spans workforce planning, organisational design and leadership capability uplift aligned to growth.

An attractive executive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, reflective of the scale and enterprise impact of this mandate.
