About the Opportunity
As a Safety Advisor at SA Power Networks, you will be based in Adelaide where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and the broader community. The Safety Advisor provides expert safety advice and support across the organisation, working closely with leaders, employees, and subject matter experts. Your efforts will be focused on promoting a culture of proactive safety, reducing workplace risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant WHS legislation and self-insurance requirements.
You will be responsible for implementing safety action plans, monitoring compliance, and conducting safety investigations. By offering strategic advice to managers and workers, you’ll contribute to the development of a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with safety management systems. Your involvement will extend to managing injuries, assisting with workers' compensation processes, and supporting wellbeing initiatives across the business.
This role provides the opportunity to influence safety practices at all levels of the organisation. You will collaborate with various departments, including Asset Management & Operations, Safety Business Partners, and Learning & Development teams, to design and deliver effective safety programs. In this dynamic environment, your work will directly impact the safety culture and operational efficiency of SA Power Networks, driving continuous improvement across the business.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring a solid foundation of safety knowledge, including a Certificate IV in WHS Management or equivalent qualifications, along with relevant experience in a similar advisory role within a large, high-risk organisation. You’ll possess strong expertise in interpreting and applying WHS legislation and industry best practices to ensure compliance and improve safety outcomes. Your ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, coupled with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, will allow you to provide valuable safety insights and solutions.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other software will be essential, and your collaborative mindset will help you work closely with various teams to implement safety programs. Most importantly, you will have a passion for fostering a safe work environment and be dedicated to improving safety standards across the organisation.
