About the opportunity

The Engineering Standards team at SA Power Networks is seeking a Technical Standards Engineer to develop, review, and implement technical standards that support the safe and reliable operation of our distribution network. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, driving innovation, and improving safety and cost efficiency across substations, distribution, and telecommunication assets.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing technical standards to align with regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in standard designs.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure technical standards meet operational needs.
  • Supporting risk assessments, ensuring WHS and environmental standards are upheld.
  • Managing document control processes to maintain accurate technical records.

About you

  • A degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (a person with relevant experience in the electrical utility industry will be considered)
  • 3+ years of experience working with and developing technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in risk assessments and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, technical documentation, and standards development.
