The Partnering and People Experience team in P&C are seeking applications for a Senior People Partner to join the team.

 

Reporting to the Head of Partnering & People Experience, the Senior People Partner leads a team of People Partners to deliver practical, timely and effective, strategically aligned support to their business portfolio across SA Power Networks. This role serves as a vital link within the broader P&C ecosystem, bridging functional areas of expertise and People Partners with the business to deliver a cohesive and high-quality people experience. The Senior People Partner enables the delivery of the departmental People Priorities, People Plans and annual P&C program of work, while supporting day to day business needs in a busy and complex environment. Providing clear and practical advice on a broad range of people matters, the position also serves as the escalation point for addressing more complex issues.  It plays an important role in helping leaders navigate change, apply people processes, and build capability and confidence in managing their teams.

 

Other role responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small team of P&C People Partners, driving organisational success through strong stakeholder relationships, effective people management, continuous improvement and the implementation of solutions addressing workforce challenges.
  • Oversee the delivery and implementation of functional People plans and the annual P&C program of work.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, aligning people priorities with business strategy and workforce needs.
  • Enable change by helping leaders understand people impacts, preparing teams, and supporting implementation.
  • Enable the P&C initiatives across the entire employee lifecycle, such as talent, succession, workforce planning, culture, engagement, and leadership development.
  • Provide specialist P&C advisory services (both operational and strategic).
  • Build strong and trusted relationships across the business to support the delivery of both operational matters and strategic plans for the organisation.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field and/or the equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience.
  • Extensive generalist experience across all aspects of a People & Culture function, gained within a complex operational environment encompassing both corporate and blue-collar workforces.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or supporting the development of People Partners, including coordinating workflow and ensuring consistent delivery.
  • Experience in successfully partnering with the business to deliver strategic people programs of work.
  • Highly developed experience providing advice on complex ER/IR matters
  • Ability to understand the business context and provide clear, balanced advice that supports effective decision making and consistent people practices.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, influence decision making, and communicate clearly and confidently in challenging or ambiguous situations.
  • Strong leadership experience, including coaching and supporting People Partners, managing workflow, and building capability across the partnering function.
