About the role  
As a Senior Substation Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering safe, reliable, and efficient substation solutions. Leading project teams, you'll provide expert engineering advice, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Construction, and Project Management. Your leadership will drive technical excellence, mentoring the next generation of engineers while supporting SA Power Networks’ commitment to innovation and reliability.

About you  
Your skills and experience will include:  

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in substation design across primary, earthing, electrical interference, and system integration.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, Safety in Design, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading engineering and design teams, providing mentorship, and driving technical excellence.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Construction, and Project Management teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical studies and provide innovative engineering solutions.   
  • Experience in utilities or infrastructure projects and familiarity with SA Power Networks’ design standards would be beneficial.
